SKS Leads "Thriller" Flash Mob in Kent

October 31st, 2018

The town of Kent welcomed the South Kent boys for another rendition of the classic Halloween "Thriller" dance on Halloween night on the field adjacent to Kent's own Heron Gallery. Thanks to almost two months of steady practice, they boys' performance did not dissapoint. As they have been for the past few years, the South Kent boys were the life (or death?) of the party.

Cheryl Moore is the school's art department chair and also the coordinator of the "Call to Explore" affinity group. She guided the boys through the preparation and execution of the dance and had nothing but good things to say about their effort. "All of the boys were chosen to be zombies way back in September. They've been practicing for two months. It wasn't always an easy experience. None of them had ever performed much less danced in front of hundreds of people. Dance is kind of taboo for a teenage guy, but they hung in and were pleasantly surprised once the whole experience was over.  They hadn't considered how wonderful it would feel to have all of those people cheering, clapping and complimenting them."
