South Kent School Feeds the Need

On the weekend of February 18-20, the students, faculty, and staff of South Kent School will be joining together to take on the challenges of food insecurity and hunger in Connecticut–an initiative we’re calling South Kent Feeds the Need.  The school will be collecting monetary donations and nonperishable food and personal care items to benefit the Kent Food Bank. 

We invite you to take part in this effort as well, both by encouraging your son to participate in our food drive and by contributing on your own to the Kent Food Bank. 

Schedule of Events

Friday 2/18 

Food collection will take place at the following games:

  • 15O vs Boston Hockey Academy, 3:00 – 5:00pm

  • Prep Basketball vs St Thomas Moore, 4:00 – 6:00pm

  • 16U vs Boston Hockey Academy, 5:15 – 7:15pm

  • Development Basketball vs. Wilbraham & Monson, 6:00 – 7:30pm

  • 18U vs Boston Hockey Academy, 7:30 – 9:45pm

  • Futsal Tournament in Gymnasium after basketball finishes - 8:00 - 9:30 pm

Saturday 2/19

  • Sandwich making in preparation for Sunday trip to New Haven

  • 9:00 am to 12 noon, Food Drive at Davis IGA

    • 3-4 boys with one faculty member working 1 hour shifts (schedule)

Sunday 2/20

  • Travel to Chapel on the Green to distribute the lunches
