Paul G. Sharpe ’11

October 1st, 2019

Paul Gerry Sharpe, of Rochester, formerly of Plymouth and Needham, who would greet you with an infectious smile, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.  He was the second of three sons, born in Plymouth to Michael P. and Lisa (Tripp) Sharpe. Paul attended Needham Public Schools, graduating from Needham High School in 2010.

He was a member of the 2008 NHS Division 1 State Championship Hockey team and was elected as a Senior Captain for the 2010 season, where they played in the MIAA Super Eight Tournament. Post graduate, he attended The South Kent School and played on the varsity hockey team in the Prep League. Paul graduated with honors from UMass Lowell, with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in international business.

Paul was a charismatic, free spirit whose zest for life was contagious. He loved seeing people, new and old, and would captivate you with his warmth, intellect, quick wit and charm. He made you feel unique and special.

Paul also had a passion for animals and nature. He loved all of God’s creatures, great and small. He could almost communicate with them on a different level. In addition to his Loving parents Michael P. and Lisa B. (Tripp) Sharpe, Paul was the beloved brother of Michael J. and William E. Sharpe. He was the grandson of Gerry L. Tripp of Humarock, Barbara Owen Tripp of Bloomfield, CT and the late Paul Sharpe, Nancy Sharpe and William Urquhart. Nephew of the late Alison Tripp and Norman Swanson and cousin of the late Chandler Tripp, Paul is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
