The Rev. William Low Obituary
September 20th, 2016
Father Low leading service in St. Michael's Chapel
The School is saddened to announce the passing of the Rev. William Low on Monday, September 19, 2016, at his home in Canton, CT. Father Low served as Associate Chaplain at South Kent from 1996-2013 after many years of parish ministry in the Episcopal Church. A beloved presence on campus, Father Low was a loyal fan of all South Kent athletic teams, and he especially enjoyed watching hockey from his perch behind the scorer's table in Cuyler Rink. He was the recipient of the Robert and Anna MacLean Distinguished Service Award from the School in 2014. Full details of funeral arrangements, with remembrances of his life of service to the School, will be announced on this website when available. Our prayers now are with his wife, the Rev. Salin Low, and his family. May he rest in peace, and may light perpetual shine upon him.
A celebration of the life of Father Low, with Holy Eucharist, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Simsbury, CT. The Rt. Rev. Ian Douglas, Bishop of Connecticut, will preside, and a reception will follow in the parish hall.
A Service of Committal will take place in St. Michael's Chapel on campus at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016. The Rt. Rev. Laura Ahrens, Bishop Suffragan of Connecticut, will preside at that service. Father Low's remains will be interred in the school cemetery immediately afterwards, and a reception in the Assembly Hall will follow.
